They failed in their attacks and Israel conquered new land.” I personally heard this a lot from my Jewish friends when we discussed the conflict as it was presented in the official narratives taught in school. In fact, the majority of the ethnic cleansing of both Muslim and Christian villages in Palestine occurred before the seven Arab armies entered the war.

As an example I post this picture I took at the beach of Jaffa/Tel Aviv a few weeks ago. A very beautiful place where many tourists hang out but only a few of them know that this not a natural hill, but an artificial one made after the Menashiya neighborhood's destruction, which was completely depopulated and destroyed by Zionists in 1948. The only building left is the nearby Hassan Bek Mosque. Hotels and businesses were built in the new open space. Later the remains of the destroyed houses were gathered near the shore and covered with soil; palm trees were planted to completely remove all evidence. ( In Wikipedia they will tell you that Menashiya neighborhood was demolished in order to build a central business district without any mention of any ethnic cleansing or of what happened to its original inhabitants who until have been refugees.)
